What Are Stewart’s Acoustical Transparent Screen Fabrics?

A key feature for cinematic presentations is sound transparency. However, obtaining the highest level of sound should not compromise visual acuity. The best way to ensure the highest level of both visual acuity and sound transparency is screen perforation.

During post-production audio film mixing, soundtracks are assigned to designated speakers with left, center, and right channel speakers in the front and surround sound speakers behind the viewer. As a result, the sound comes from where you expect it, and the audio is aligned with the action sequences seen on the screen. Stewart offers optional acoustical transparency for realistic sound so speakers can be placed behind the screen to create big theater sound while providing simply the best on-screen image.

Stewart has four options for acoustical transparency:

CinemaPerf:  The professional’s choice for large cinema-sized screens needing acoustical transparency. CinemaPerf can be used with any of our award-winning 16K+ front projection screen materials.
