STEWART FILMSCREEN DEMONSTRATES A DIVERSE SELECTION OF SCREEN MATERIALS DURING INFOCOMM 09
Torrance, CA and Orlando, FL (InfoComm) – June 16, 2009 - Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for commercial and residential markets demonstrates a wide variety of screen materials during InfoComm '09 this week in Orlando, including CrystalView, a brand new rigid rear projection screen with improved contrast and resolution.
Since 1947, Stewart Filmscreen has maintained the highest standards in screen design, craftsmanship, and customer service. Their innovative screen products are used for a wide range of commercial applications. In fact, what ever your custom needs, Stewart can supply the most suitable screen material in any size imaginable.
Edge Blending – A Screen with Near Perfect Uniformity - SnoMatte 100
Stewart offers a wide selection of screens that are especially suitable for edge-blending applications, specifically SnoMatte100. Proper edge blending allows multiple projectors to overlap, without a region of elevated brightness where the two projected images meet. SnoMatte 100 is a flexible front projection matte-white screen formulated to meet the strictest color and white field uniformity standards. This unity gain reference screen is an optimal diffuser and disperses light in a near perfect hemispherical distribution. SnoMatte 100 is the defacto standard for Digital Intermediary and Color Timing Post Production facilities. The extremely wide viewing cone necessitates a high degree of commitment to reflected light attenuation in the viewing environment.
High Gain and High Contrast for Optimum 3D Presentations
Stewart's Silver 3D material meets the increased demand for three-dimensional
projection, especially in theme parks. This specialty fabric is designed to optimize stereoscopic, two channel 3D displays by employing special metallic elements that are formulated to preserve light polarization. The high gain and high contrast of the fabric helps compensate for the losses incurred when using polarization filtration technology. Silver 3D offers a wider viewing cone compared to competing fabrics with similar gain specifications. The open/closed ratio of Silver 3D is the industry benchmark for front projection fabrics.
Stewart’s Filmscreen 100/150 are flexible rear projection screen materials formulated with a neutral gray tint for enhanced contrast and are good choices for passive 3D applications. Filmscreen 100 and Filmscreen 150 offer very wide viewing angles for contrast enhanced materials and are excellent performers in rooms where some ambient light is present.
Stewart Filmscreen’s StarGlas, the world’s most unique video projection screen, is formulated to offer unsurpassed contrast levels making it an excellent material for passive 3D applications. StarGlas 60 is also rated as safety glass allowing it to be used as an architectural element. A diffusion layer is placed between two layers of glass that are then laminated to protect it from damage, allowing StarGlas to be used virtually anywhere including outdoors, shopping malls, schools and other high traffic areas. It is ideal for creating imaginative walls and even floors for projecting digital signage and advertising.
Stewart will also feature two gray screens this year, the GrayHawk RS G3 and GrayMatte 70. GrayHawk RS G3 is an innovative front projection screen surface designed to maximize the performance of today’s 1080p technology. The G3’s ultra-fine optical coating improves uniformity for consistent brightness across the entire screen. This unique feature, combined with the screen’s neutral density gray base, dramatically increases black levels, shadow detail and overall color saturation, provides the viewer with maximum resolution and superb image quality. GrayHawk RS G3 is an excellent tool for lowering the black floor with high output projectors, without losing off axis performance and viewing cone width. GrayMatte 70 is also a flexible front projection screen material with a neutral density gray base, however, it is formulated for use in front projection edge-blending applications. This unique material dampens cross reflection in deeply curved or circular projection installations. Graymatte 70 is also an excellent tool for neutral attenuation of “over lit” displays employing large high-resolution projectors with small screens. Custom gains are available.
High Resolution Rear Projection - CrystalView
At this year's InfoComm, Stewart Filmscreen introduces CrystalView, a new dimensionally stable and solid rear projection screen designed for today's high-resolution displays. A "tinted" screen once meant a narrower viewing angle, not any more. CrystalView provides a screen with greater dispersion of projected light to the viewer. This increases perceived contrast and image quality under ambient light conditions. More importantly it results in a uniform bright image across the screen, even from extreme viewing angles. Available in sizes up to 73” x 120” and it is also suitable for edge blending.
StarGlas meets Stewart Media Décor…now that’s rear projection!
For the ultimate multi-media room, Stewart offers the Stewart Media Décor to create the most elegant and sophisticated presentation environment imaginable. Stewart Media Décor provides architects, systems integrators and designers a tasteful solution to discretely camouflage visual displays, in business boardrooms, conference rooms or multi-media rooms. The Stewart Media Décor is an innovative motorized art deployment system that lowers a piece of custom artwork over a fixed Stewart projection screen (or flat panel TV) when they are not in use. Visit Stewart’s booth to see how we have stylishly integrated the Stewart Media Décor with a 54’ x 96” StarGlas 60 screen.
Whatever your custom needs, Stewart can supply the most suitable screen material in any size imaginable, we’ve chosen a few of these exciting solutions described above that can all be seen at InfoComm in Booth #4147 in the Orlando Convention Center during InfoComm from June 14-19, 2009.
