Stewart Filmscreen® Shows LuminEsse™ ‘Edgeless’ Fixed Frame Wallscreen at CEDIA Expo 2015

Stewart introduces LuminEsse projector screen to the custom-installation market, demonstrating sublime aesthetics and the flexibility to deliver the ultimate image performance in any environment

TORRANCE, CA & DALLAS, TX —(CEDIA Expo, Booth #3710)—Oct. 8, 2015— Stewart Filmscreen®—Academy Award® winning manufacturer of custom engineered projector screens, screen materials, and specialty optical coatings—will introduce its new LuminEsse™ fixed frame wallscreen system to the custom AV installation market during CEDIA Expo 2015, being held October 14–17 in Dallas. The LuminEsse fixed frame front projection wallscreen has won numerous industry awards already this year but has not yet been shown to the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Industry audience.

Unique Edgeless Design

LuminEsse features an ‘edgeless’ design that offers technology integrators, consultants, designers, and property owners appreciable aesthetics whether the screen is in use or not, allowing them to install and enjoy the screen in any room of the home, not just the dedicated home theater. An edgeless design gives the screen a ‘floating image’ effect when in use, and when the projector is off, the screen itself blends into the surrounding décor, like a piece of art. With a super-slim 3/8-inch thin bezel, LuminEsse fits modern expectations for more screen size, less visible framing system. This extremely thin bezel lends itself to short-throw applications where shadows created by thick frames often detract from the onscreen image.

Top Image Performance for Any Environment

In addition to its sleek design, LuminEsse is available in most of Stewart Filmscreen’s 4K+ rated front projection screen materials, allowing integrators to specify the appropriate screen material for the application. Unlike competitors who offer a very narrow range of gain options, this flexibility gives custom integrators the ability to tailor the image to the unique constraints of the room, such as ambient light and the specified projector.

“With LuminEsse, technology professionals can offer their clients far more flexibility when it comes to specifying the right gain for the particular application, in addition to the added high-performance image integrity that is synonymous with Stewart Filmscreen,” says Grant Stewart, President and CEO of Stewart Filmscreen.

Material options include Stewart Filmscreen’s renowned reference screen materials such as FireHawk® G4, GrayHawk RS® G4, StudioTek 130, and more. Having already receiving significant positive reviews by AV trade professionals, editors, and influencers after making its international debut at Integrated Systems Europe and commercial debut at InfoComm earlier this year, LuminEsse has become the go-to solution for discerning viewers and AV professionals who demand the best image possible in any environment.

Optional LED Backlighting

The LuminEsse front projection wallscreen features an optional LED backlighting kit that goes beyond wow factor to make viewing more comfortable. The LED lighting acts as bias lighting, relaxing the iris of the eye and causing less strain during extended viewing. When the screen is on, the multicolored perimeter lighting enriches onscreen content; when off, the lighting can be used to set the mood.

The LuminEsse rigid front projection screen system uses Stewart’s wall mount system, making screen installation inexpensive, simple, and fast. It is available in sizes up to 121 inches (diagonal) in 16:9 format and up to 151 inches (diagonal) in 2.35:1 configuration.
